Teachers and Students of the Japanese Department of our College Participate in the Large-Scale Exchange Activities of "Dialogue with Sichuan" between China and Middle Four Regions in Japan

From January 11 to 14, 2019, a large-scale exchange event of "Dialogue with Sichuan" between China and the Middle Four Regions in Japan was successfully held in Chengdu. Governor Yin Li met with TangQi Yingyan, a governor of Hiroshima County who led a delegation to visit Sichuan, and attended relevant activities. Teachers and students of the Japanese Department of our college actively participated in this exchange event.

On the afternoon of January 12, the "Dialogue with Sichuan" exchange Symposium between China and the Middle Four Regions in Japan was successfully held in the Academic Exchange Center of the Jiuli Campus of our university. Representatives of Hiroshima University, County-Level Hiroshima University, Ehime University, Sichuan Foreign Affairs Office, Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, Sichuan University, Sichuan Agricultural University, Xihua University, and Southwest Jiaotong University attended the symposium.

The exchange meeting was presided over by Wang Xiaoru, assistant to the president of our university. President Xu Fei delivered a passionate speech entitled "People to People and Cultural Exchanges, Mutual Learning of Civilizations". He hoped that Chinese and Japanese universities could make new contributions to the long-term healthy and stable development of bilateral relations through people to people and cultural exchanges. County President and President of Hiroshima University Nakamura Kenichi, Director and Vice President of Hiroshima University Sato Lihang, Director of International Exchange Center of Ehime University Chen Jie, Vice President of Sichuan Agricultural University Wu De, Vice President of China West University Fei Ling, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Sichuan University Yang Guang, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Southwest Jiaotong University Ren Xinhong introduced their respective universities current situation, discipline characteristics, international cooperation and exchanges, especially the exchange with Japan, etc. Luo Peng and Cui Long, teachers of the Japanese Department of our college, acted as interpreters of the meeting, and then visited the State Key Laboratory of traction power together with the delegation.

Besides, 11 outstanding students, including Yang Yi, Du Yidan, Zhang Suhui, Mao Yiqiang, Ma Dandan, Xiong Yan, Zhou Yuwen, Yuan Shangqi, Ding Shanghong, Liu Tianchen, and Yu Gang, were selected and dispatched by the Japanese Department of our college as volunteers to participate in this exchange activity. They have respectively completed many tasks, such as the shuttle, the explanation of Sichuan Intangible Cultural Heritage Culture, the introduction of products in Middle Four Regions in Japan, the interpretation with the table at dinner, the interpretation of scenic spots visiting, the students' meeting of Hiroshima University, and so on. Their outstanding performance has been unanimously praised by China and Japan.
