On the morning of September 20th, the Chancellor of University of Venice, Buglisi and Vice-Chancellor, Lippiello came to the School of Foreign Languages of Southwest Jiaotong University for an exchange. The two sides had a discussion meeting in the school conference room. And following leaders of departments and schools attended the meeting, including Zhang Xueyong, Director of the Division for Development of Liberal Arts of Southwest Jiaotong University, Zheng Haitao, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Xing Wen, Deputy Dean of the School of Humanities, and Li Chengjian, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages.

At first,Li Chengjian, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages made a brief introduction of the history, subject setting, student development and international exchanges of the School of Foreign Languages to the guests.After that, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Venice, Lippiello, introduced the history of their University , and general condition of the schools, department settings, and international projects.

Then, Ren Xianyu, Assistant to the Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, gave a detailed introduction to the development of the European Research Center in our school, the American Research Center, and the academic research team, research direction, fields and results of the school.

In the end, the two sides discussed some specific parts, such as short-term exchange programs for students, double academic degrees programs, and international cooperation in academic research. The two sides reached an agreement and expressed their willingness to cooperate in the above areas in the future.
