On the afternoon of May 10th, Keith Lawrence, an associate professor of English at Brighan Young University in the United States, came to the School of Foreign Languages to give a lecture onHow Chinese American literature Changed American Literary Classicsfor young teachers and graduate students.

In his lecture, Professor Lawrence first introduced the historical background of early Chinese immigrants, and then introduced eight Chinese-American writers and their works, such as C. Y. Lee, Jade Snow Wong, Maxine Hong Kingston and Frank Chin, and finally concluded that American Chinese literature has enriched American mainstream literature and promoted its development. During and after the lecture, young teachers and students of our school raised questions about the acceptance of Chinese writers' works in the United States, the writing styles of Chinese writers about Chinese stories, and the spread of Chinese writers' works on Chinese culture. Lawrence patiently and meticulously answered the questions one by one.
