The Students give their 8th SRTP projects final report

The final report of the 8th SRTP (Student Research Training Program) projects for undergraduates at the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) was held in Room X2218 on the afternoon of April 14th, 2014. Students who had applied for these SRTP projects, from the departments of English, French, Translation and Interpreting, German, and international Chinese, attended, and made a defense of, the final report. Supervising teachers were present to make an overall evaluation of the students’ research results.
 

 

The eighth round of the SRTP projects at the SFL included 30 projects and involved over 100 students. These projects covered a wide range of research interests including, linguistic study, language teaching research, translation study, foreign cultures study, foreign language talents cultivation, and employment research. During the final report, team leaders introduced and presented their research ideas, processes, what they focused on, difficulties, and results, through well-prepared PPT materials. Teachers gave feedback and advice aimed at helping students improve their work.

 
 

 

The SRTP is a grant program for research projects designed for undergraduates. The program adopts a project management methodology by setting up funds and providing topics for students to apply for, according to their own interests. This is a way of encouraging students to conduct research projects under the guidance of teachers. The SRTP aims at supporting students’ research training because such research-based learning brings benefits to the students involved. The SRTP program at the SFL has promoted students’ interests in research, opened their minds to exploration, enhanced their awareness of following academic standards, and improved their research abilities. It has helped students lay a solid foundation for their  future academic research and achievements.
