From October 16 to 17, 2021, the 2021 Annual Meeting of the National French Literature Research Association, with the theme of "Studies in Modern and Contemporary French Literature: Translation and Interpretation of Classic Writers' Works", was successfully held in Southwest Jiaotong University. The conference is sponsored by The French Literature Association of the Society of Foreign Literature of China and organized by the School of Foreign Languages of SWJTU. The annual conference, which combines online and offline parts, attracted more than 200 experts and scholars from universities, research institutions and publishing houses across the country. The conference was also broadcast live through Bilibili, attracting nearly one thousand people.

The opening ceremony of the annual meeting was held in the conference hall of school of Foreign Languages at 9:00 a.m. on the 16th, presided over by Professor Zhang Ping of Xi 'an International Studies University. At the opening ceremony, Gui Fuqiang, deputy Secretary of the PARTY Committee of SWJTU, Professor Li Chengjian, dean of school of Foreign Languages, and Professor Shi Zhongyi, president of French Literature Research Association delivered speeches successively.

After the opening ceremony, the conference entered the keynote report, presided over by Prof. Yuan Xiaoyi, member of the Foreign Languages and Literature Evaluation Group and dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Literature of ECNU.

 The closing ceremony was presided over by Zuo Tianmeng, dean of French Department of School of Foreign Languages, SWJTU. First of all, the representatives of each sub-forum gave a brief report on the communication within the group. Prof. Yuan Xiaoyi, the new president of the French Literature Research Association, delivered a speech and read the resolution of the council. She fully affirmed the organizer of the conference, School of Foreign Languages, Southwest Jiaotong University, and the achievements of the conference. Finally, the representative of Xiangtan University, the organizer of the 2022 Annual conference of The French Literature Research Association, made a brief speech to confirm the matters of the conference next year.

This meeting coincides with the transition of the association. This annual meeting held smoothly for French literature research participants provided valuable opportunity to exchange platform and the thought collision, and will also lead in the new organization and open a new chapter in the study of Chinese and French literature in the "Fourteenth Five-year plan" period. Finally, in the context of promoting sino-French cultural dialogue and mutual learning between civilizations, and enhancing sino-French cultural exchanges in the new era, the association will attain new fruits of study in the area of French literature.
